Surgery of gallstones - Cholecystectomy

Cholecystectomy is the most commonly performed operations and more frequent type of abdominal surgery. It is very safe, with mortality and complication rate very low.
Certainly much smaller than the problems arising complications of vesicular diseases. Was performed by a wide incision of the wall of the upper quadrant abdomen. There were postoperative pain and significant hospital stay of several days, and complications of the surgical incision.

In 1987 Mouret, surgeon of French in Lyon, performed the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy. In and less than 10 years the new method was accepted throughout world, making it arguably the surgery choice for gallbladder disease. Indicated both for uncomplicated cholelithiasis and cholecystitis to acute.

It is a warning, however, for surgery cholecystectomy. Eventually, it is achievable by
laparoscopy, requiring conversion to surgery conventional open. Convert a laparoscopy to
open surgery is not worthlessness but prudence to provide safe solution to the problems of patients with disease gallbladder.
